Several months ago, I created a back splash in my bathroom using gems from the Dollar Store. After a lot of people requested that I continue the mosaic on the rest of the wall. While I didn't want the entire wall covered with the gems, this is what I did.

Copper Countertops Under 20$ What????

A little about me: I am a DIYer who goes out of my way to use items I already have when I make projects over. For instance, this project cost ME about $16 total to do. However to buy all of the products for this (listed below) it might cost between 50-60$. (Still a bargain) Three of the 4 squares in this picture are real copper countertops, gorgeous, shiny, and expensive. However one of these squares is MY copper countertop. Which is also gorgeous, shiny, but cost less than $20 and as it turns out, is made of concrete.

I must admit that I was SUPER intimidated to do this project. I've seen it around online and had to try it, but I felt like I was going to royally mess it up. With some logistical help and elbow grease from my dear sweet husband, we got this project done, and it wasn't near as painful as I thought it would be. How to find flat modern spring clamps for hanging bath towels?

I have been searching & searching for these! I believe I saw them on a promo pic for Property Brothers. They are spring clips that attach to the wall with a flat front. These were used instead of a traditional towel bar to hang wet or dry towels. I am looking for these or any similar ideal to use clips instead of a bar. Thank you in advance!

Handan is always shoving some piece of junk or another into my face and then demanding to know if I’m aware of what I’ll be doing with it. This usually happens while I’m trying to concentrate on something important, like television or video games or food.“Babes!” She cries, as a smile spreads across her face. “Babes! Do you know what you’re going to turn this into?” Whereupon she thrusts some splintered piece of furniture or rickety frame or broken bauble towards my averted eyes, tilting it this way and that. She usually attacks from the right, so I’ve learned to feint left, thus maintaining eye contact with my show, my game or my meal.“Hrnmph.” I say, hoping it conveys enough meaning to ward her off.It rarely does, and she circles around for another run at me.“Does my babes know what he’s going to make for me? Does he? Does he? Hey? Hey?”She’s like a buzzard on the scent of some carrion or wounded prey. I’m trapped, and she knows it. She always gets me when I’m sitting down. It takes a lot of time and energy to shift this much mass up off of the couch and get it running for the hills. She knows my weaknesses, and she exploits them.I sigh the long sigh of The Eternally Tormented Soul and meet her sparkling eyes with a heavy-lidded stare.“What am I going to do, my babes?” And so it begins…*****Our salvaged, purchased and collected picture frames number in the hundreds and mass about a metric ton. To me, they are a single, intimidating entity, but Handan can tell you the history of and plans for each and every one of them. Her brain is like a filing cabinet. This makes it nearly impossible to win an argument with her, since she has total recall of every word I’ve uttered since we met and has no problem repackaging those words and hurling them back at me at the most inopportune moments. Einstein once wrote to a friend that "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." This is nonsense. The definition of insanity is arguing with a woman and expecting to win.Anyway, back to the picture frames. Handan’s favorites are the ornate ones. The fancier, the better. She found one a long time ago at the dump that she loved. Yeah, yeah, I thought it was pretty cool, too. It even made the featured image of a post she wrote about finding free furniture. Grouted Vinyl (Peel & Stick) Tile

We choose to put peel and stick tile in our master bathroom update for a few reasons. 1. It fit the budget 2. We had never done any type of floor venture and we figured it would be easy to get our feet wet with it 3. We plan on doing a complete overhaul in the bathroom in 5 years or so. I'll tell you a bit about how we did things.Step one : Rip up carpet, all tack strips and staples.Step two: Vacuum plywood and then dry brush it (there are some recommendations for chemical cleaning agents, but we didn't use any)Step 3: Figure out placement (brick pattern or other, etc.)Step 4: Peel backing off and start laying the tile. Press firmly on each tile. We used a rolling pin on some and then used our feet on others.Step 5: Use a razor knife to score any tiles that need to be "cut".Step 5: Grout (Making sure to sponge off excess to eliminate the "fog")Step 6: Let dry.Enjoy.* So, we have had this in our house for over a year and it looks great. From Gun Cabinet to Material Cabinet

We were given this old gun cabinet from a friend who was remodeling and didn’t want it anymore. Luckily for us we had a fabulous idea for it. Add some shelves and it becomes a great shelving unit for someone. The cost to us is $0 because we had everything we needed already. If you were to go out and buy the paint, plugs and shelves it could range from $50-100 depending on the quality you purchased.
