How to Decorate Your Fireplace

Start with paint: Choose a paint color that is most suited to your room’s decor. Two colors will add depth to your fireplace decor.
Display a basket of pine cones: Choose a beautiful and decorative basket. Fill it with pine cones or pretty wooden pieces. Place it on the floor near the fireplace.
Add a bowl of nuts: Display a decorative wooden bowl, an iconic nutcracker, and a few nuts that are still in their shells.
Create comfortable seating: Add an armchair or a rocking chair, and a soft rug. A firescreen will keep the sparks from damaging the rug and the furniture.
Place logs near the fire: Add logs for a beautiful visual effect. Having logs handy is also practical.

With Blizzard Jonas' visit last weekend, I've had enough of winter. I guess the idea of our deck being colder than our fridge doesn't sit well with me. It makes me feel like a vegetable put on ice to keep crunchy until served! But since winter wants to stick around, it seems I am left with two options: - Behave like a caveman and yell at winter to leave. - Act normal and ignore it. If winter still wants to get cozy, then simply imply that it is no longer wanted by changing the home decor to Spring. I chose the later and started flirting with Spring. I haven't done much yet, but I've done enough to remind me of beautiful warm Spring weather: moss balls and topiaries.

And I finally did it!I’ve had this window garland project in mind for over a year and I’m really not sure what took me so long to do it. What can I do with my bathroom mirror?

My powder room is small and on an angled wall.There is currently a 30 inch vanity and a 31 inch top. This does not leave enough room for an average person to walk in between the vanity and the door. There is the typical big mirror mounted to the wall.I really want to put in a smaller vanity but I'm looking for ideas on what I can do to the mirror to balance it out so the smaller vanity doesn't look like it was just thrown in the corner. Taking the mirror down is not an option right now. Here is a picture of what it looks like now.
