Faux Brick Wall

I have wanted an exposed brick wall for quite some time, but don't live in a place where I can do some demo to expose one myself so I went with a fun alternative! This faux brick wall paneling is a quick and cheap option if you are wanting to give a wall a bit of industrial character. With some liquid nails, some grout and of course the panels you get a great brick look-a-like! This is a great option for renters too as you are able to install it with only nails if needed and can remove it when you move!

Update an Old Ceiling Fan With Spray Paint!

We finally got our kitchen, living room and some hallways painted several weeks ago. When the painter asked if he could remove some of our kitchen ceiling fan's blades, so he could paint more easily, I figured it was the PERFECT time to take it all down and finally spray paint the thing and give it a new, updated look! Rustoleum 2X white and metallic nickel spray paints to the rescue! It cost me two new cans of spray paint, but I have plenty left for other projects. I did this project over a few days because I wanted to make sure parts were dry before doing a different colour.

Dull Italian Living Room Gets a Dramatic Makeover

We have a wee house in a rural village in the heart of Italy - it has been in my husband's family for a couple of generations and has been left to him. We have used it as a bolt-hole for years, but it has always needed some serious TLC, which we have only recently been able to give it. It has one bedroom with a largish living/dining room, which we use for accommodating extra guests on a bed-settee. The far wall is most unusual as it it is totally blank - no window, door or even radiator. It is an open-plan space, so looking from the kitchen, all you see is is this blank wall. I have been looking (subliminally) for something special for that wall and I believe I found it!

We're stationed in Germany and we wanted to install a fireplace but the cost of installation was upwards of 10,000 euros. So we built out own. We used the example from blogger Lauren of Bless'er House as a visual guide but since we didn't have the mantel and surround we needed to draw our own plans. We are pretty happy with how it turned out and the cost was about $300.

Boring Wall Made Beautiful!

I so wanted a stone wall in my home but the cost never fit in my budget. After years of wishing I was determined to find a way. I watched a lot of videos on air stone and convinced myself that I can do it. After all the video had a woman laying the stone. When other people laughed when I said I was going to try it that gave me the determination to show them.

I had gotten rid of a GIANT 5 piece entertainment center that was occupying a 17 foot wall that ran down the middle of our 'great room'. Once it was gone I was left with a lot of empty blankness. A third generation family cottage before and after

This cute cottage had been in my clients family for a few generations. She wanted to update it for her family. The living room was very dark and cavelike.
