I really have a thing for old vanities, especially with big round mirrors. They can be expensive so I am always on the lookout for fixer uppers. I came across this little gem at a garage sale for $10! I could not contain my excitement and purchased without really looking it over (it was $10!)! I got it home and was really happy that the drawers were in excellent condition but found out that the mirror was broke on the right side, but everything else was pretty solid. No rebuilding needed. I just needed to figure out how to make the mirror work.

Blue Chalk Paint & Dark Wax Vanity Makeover

Hi! I've just given my Master Bathroom a full remodel, but I decided to rescue and refinish the built in vanities. This house was built about 25 years ago. And, I'm pretty sure the vanities hadn't been painted since then. They were pretty badly chipped and dinged all over the doors and drawers. But since they were 3/4" thick built in wood vanities with a pretty moulding design, I decided I'd save them. And, I'm so glad I did. I love them with this new look!I actually did 4 easy and low cost updates to these vanities: 1) the new paint 2) built the garbage can into the door 3) switched the knobs 4) added stained plywood liners to the cabinets. You can get a good look and explanation of what I did in the video.

How to hang a bathroom vanity cabinet on the wall, looks like floating

I purchased a regular press board bathroom vanity 18" wide. I would like to hang it but do not know how to do it. It has no real back due for installing plumbing, only trim across back top which is not to sturdy. I left off the kick plate in the front lower area to use as a drawer front to match the vanity. I will buy or make a draw for this small cabinet. This is also the reason I want to lift the cabinet to clear the floor when the draw is open. It is a very small bathroom and it will look larger with a floating cabinet also. Any idea as to what to do would be very helpful. I will also have someone gut the wall and renovate this bathroom. I then can add cross wood between the beams but not sure the press board in the back of this press board vanity will not fall apart. I also have granite around the sink on this small cabinet which is heavy. Thanks for your help.
